What is distance learning?
Distance learning is learning from a home base rather than at a campus where you attend classes. It gives you the flexibility to fit study around your other commitments including family, work or recreational pursuits. Open Wānanga programmes provide you with a kaitiaki (support person) who supports you while you study.
What is Open Wānanga
Open Wānanga delivers home based fee free distance learning programmes throughout New Zealand and is part of
Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, one of the country’s largest tertiary education providers.
We offer a range of certificate level qualifications to people of all ages and walks of life, providing the same unique learning environment that has been the philosophy of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa for 26 years - to overcome barriers to learning and meet the needs of all people within the communities we serve.
